The aim of lego is groups is to provide an effective social development intervention for children with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) and other conditions affecting social competent. Through the use of Lego children are able to play, create & communicate as a team.
There are 3 roles within the group: Engineer, Builder & Parts Supplier. Participants will be working together within their roles, negotiating, planning and communication to achieve their goal of completing a lego construction.
The first couple of weeks will focus on the children getting to know one another and following set instructions for a build. As skills develop the sessions will challenge participants to plan their own creations, as well as negotiate and organise their own groups and roles, ultimately working together.
